The Health Education course objective is to promote the knowledge and skills essential to the development of the optimum level of physical, emotional, mental, and social health. Health is primarily a Freshmen/Sophomore class and is a graduation requirement in the State of Illinois.
Students will be able to:
Understand the factors that influence growth and development
Analyze how stress can affect physical, mental, emotional, and social health and identify stress management techniques
Evaluate the importance of being alcohol-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free
Promote an individual’s well being through decision-making skills, goal setting, and effective communication skills
Know how nutrition can influence the body
